Although I didn't know that until the end of this second book, this series is kind of a preliminary work for their upcoming main series. As such, it was their plan to introduce the readers to this World, and then get into the main series. ("Triloraid")I found this book, and the first, to be OK reads. The main character finally showed some conscience and emotion in this second book. Before, he was just an "I'm the Greatest" type personality, with little depth. Both books have great action scenes. They have interesting fantasy species--everything from Wooly Mammoths to little magical winged critters called Trites.
On the downside, it suffered from over descriptive sections, which made me tend to skim until I got to the next action scene. The ending sets things up for the main series without being a cliffhanger, which is a plus.

Action Packed and it was very well written! Shade protecting the king. It was a GREAT read. Jason has done it again.
Another home run by J.L. Ficks and J.E. Dugue. Still can't decide what I like more, The Waiting Game or Kingsblood. Looking forward to more from these authors.
Several errors, e.g. mention of rebar in a society that did not have that technology. However, a very good story.

The book seems to go on forever and I never managed to finish it. At least the English is excellent, so this is no distraction. The main character survives again and again by luck, but sometimes by miraculous ability. If this doesn't bother you you may enjoy his many trials.
A really good continuation to the first part. The characters are rather well developed and showing some complexity. The plot is steady and does not include any forced slow-downs.
